New Hybrid Lecture Series Starting from September 13, 2023: Hector Center Focuses on Topics Related to Nutrition Trends, Exercise, and More
Is sugar always unhealthy? How can you positively influence your gut flora? What impact does muscle mass have on health? And how can you incorporate Mediterranean cuisine into your daily life? These questions and more will be answered by experts from the Hector Center for Nutrition, Exercise, and Sports at the Medical Clinic 1 – Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, and Endocrinology (Director: Prof. Dr. Markus F. Neurath) of the University Hospital Erlangen, along with invited nutrition specialists, starting from September 13, 2023. In the context of a new lecture series, interested citizens will have the opportunity to learn about various topics once a month, including information on current nutrition trends and apps, personalized nutrition, and the importance of physical activity. The first “Hector Lecture” will take place on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 5:00 PM to approximately 6:30 PM in the small auditorium, Medical Lecture Halls, Ulmenweg 18 in Erlangen. Admission is free. For those unable to attend in person, online participation is also encouraged.
The lecture series comprises a total of eleven presentations scheduled between September 2023 and July 2024, and it is intended not only for interested citizens but also for doctors, researchers, nutrition and sports professionals, as well as nursing staff. “The relevance of nutrition and sports in the prevention and treatment of numerous diseases is increasingly gaining importance in both clinical practice and scientific research,” emphasizes Prof. Dr. Yurdagül Zopf, Director of the Hector Center. “In our monthly Hector Lecture, we therefore explore the various aspects of these topics and make them more accessible to a broad audience.”
