Junior professor Dr. A. Bozec has received the most important award for young researchers in Germany from the German Research Foundation (DFG). The biochemist will be presented with the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize – which is worth 20,000 euros – in Bonn on 18 May 2016.

Clinician scientists around Dr. N. Savaskan developed a new cell culture technique that allows the processes of tumor growth to be studied directly and in real time. This new method will allow new medications and therapies to be analyzed directly, and enable side effects to be identified more quickly and efficiently than when using conventional cell culture techniques.
The German Research Foundation (DFG) supports a new research training group (GRK) for the coming 4.5 years with a focus on interdisciplinarity and neurosciences: "Neurodevelopment and CNS Vulnerability" (Speaker: Prof. Dr. D.C. Lie, Institute of Biochemistry).
