Implementation of research results
Putting your Results and Inventions into Practice
You are a doctor, scientist or researcher and have made an invention that could help improve healthcare for the population with new treatment methods and concepts, save costs in the healthcare system or enable people to live longer self-determined lives at home? FAU and the Faculty of Medicine support you in implementing your discovery through various institutions, initiatives and projects.
Networks
Our regional and international networks will help you to get in touch with potential industry partners, but can also facilitate your access to financial support.
Support and information
A number of departments of the hospital and university administration provide information on the subject of industrial cooperation and the exploitation of inventions.
FAU’s patent management at the Contact Point “Wissens- und Technologietransfer” (wtt) takes care of your invention throughout the entire property rights cycle, from the invention disclosure to an initial application, the examination and granting procedure, maintenance to exploitation and related contractual matters.
FAU students, employees or professors who want to start a business can take advantage of the comprehensive consulting services offered by the “Gründerbüro” at the Contact Point for Knowledge and Technology Transfer (wtt). The offer is aimed at founders of technology-oriented spin-offs as well as service companies. The contact point is also available to answer questions about financing the founding of a company and offers support in applying for university-specific funding programs for founders. It also organizes projects and events on the topic of business start-ups. The wtt contact point not only provides support in the run-up to the founding of a company, but also accompanies the establishment of the business. It is the contact for young entrepreneurs and provides regular information on important start-up-related topics.
Members of Erlangen University Hospital can obtain information on contractual and financial matters relating to collaborations with industrial partners from the Legal Office or the Research Funding Department of Erlangen University Hospital or on their intranet.
The FAU Department F also provides information for scientists on contractual and financial aspects of cooperation with industrial partners.
